What is a dimension?
A dimension is a direction that a probability wave can extend along.
It is defined by it’s angular relationship to other dimensions (or tangential relationship if any closed-loop is present) and its closedness.
One dimension is a line. If closed it is a loop, large or small. Two and you have a surface, if closed it is a sphere or a torus.
Hmm, so how does a dimension curve, unless there is another “direction” “above” it, into which it curves in order to loop? What should we call these extra dimensions? There is something to develop.
The wave-crest model of the (“The” – singular) electron is (in previous articles) explained as the amplitude of probability poking above a plane of significance which is the level at which we perceive the electron, and this gives rise to the perceived physical boundary in space that we define as the fuzzy location of this particle. You may remember this is how the particle/wave duality of the electron is resolved – if you read that in one of my earlier articles. The electron is fuzzy because the probability of it (actually its “edge”) being there varies with time (time is another necessary dimension for our perception/ experience/ viability but let’s not go there for now), but perhaps also fuzzy because the level at which significance/perception intersects the wave, truncating off a neat little package of electron, just maybe goes up and down.
We can “remove” some of these “dimensions” from our working memory scratchpad – the ones that don’t have to be “real” “plains” can just be trigger values – but for the sake of elegance and simplicity if might be better to stick with them in our scratchpad, even if it makes mentally juggling the interfaces between so many dimensions difficult. Just keep hold of the idea that these are quite possibly all simply notional directions in which probability waves can extend. This accords best with the understanding that everything is simply a thought spoken by God and held there by His existence.
As it is the Rio Olympics at the moment, I thought that games and races might be a pleasent topic to explore. So let’s do a quest game that is a race!
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8 (KJV)
Oft times people only remember the part “seek and ye shall find.” However what Matthew says is so important, it is in essence repeated in the very next sentence. Experienced bible readers will know that if something is important it is repeated, either in the same book, or elsewhere in the bible. “Seek and ye shall find” is initially given in a context – that of asking, being given, seeking, finding, knocking, and opening. Lest you be tempted to take any of these six elements out of context, Matthew repeats all six elements in the same order in the very next passage. I think it therefore safe to say that all six are essential to the concept Matthew is trying to convey and in that order.
So, when you need something – perhaps something you have lost, or maybe something you simply need – don’t just say to yourself in a “secular” way “seek and ye shall find” as if like some hopeful mantra this will simply aid your perseverance “acting in your own strength” and so lead to your finding whatever it is you seek. Matthew is telling you to ASK first, then you will be GIVEN something to help you in the seeking (the Holy Spirit) THEN SEEK and you will FIND. Sadly even then most people will stop. Hey-ho I got what I was seeking game over. No! Matthew has reiterated that there are still two elements to do. KNOCK and it shall be OPENED. But surely you have what you sought? How about some gratitude though? Maybe knock on God’s gate just to say thank you? God has all sorts of lovely surprises. If you were ever blessed, perhaps as a child, to have a relative who you would go visit to say thank you for a gift and at that meeting they would then give you something more, then you have already experienced what paying a grateful visit to your creator can be like.
There is a clue to the gift you will receive. Matthew does not say you what you knock on. People think usually in terms of a door, but Matthew only a little further on is letting you in on some further information you need on your quest – yes it IS like an questing adventure game – you do have to strive to achieve the ultimate prize in the race of life (Psalm 19:5, Ecclesiastes 9:11, 1 Corinthians 9:24, Hebrews 12:1).
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:14 (KJV)
It is not a door you are knocking on – well think about it – where in a naïf sense would you find God living? – Heaven. Never heard of Heaven’s gate? Think of the walled cities – gates. Jesus being a “good shepherd” and sheep pens with gates to keep them safe. Anyway Matthew has made it easy, he’s told you its a gate, that is narrow (strait) found on a narrow way, he has said where it leads (life – hint: God is the source of all life) and (big hint) that this is something for the seeker (few there be that find it). So its a GATE you need to KNOCK on. THEN it gets OPENED and you get your big surprise extra reward, that you did not expect. And even though you read all this stuff about God, and you read in the bible what heaven is like – you see through a glass darkly, you CANNOT imagine the things God has ready to give you in the eternal life to come. Not things you ask for, you are not capable of asking for what you cannot imagine, so God does not expect you to ask for what happens once the gate has been opened. God operates through a relationship of grace. Go get to know Him, for sure ask for your simple needs but when you are seeking, remember Matthew already gave you the information about WHAT you should REALLY BE SEEKING before you got to the bit about seek and ye shall find:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 7:14 (KJV)
In summary, life is a race, but the swiftest runners are not doing it in their own strength – they get help from God. In Isaiah we have a whole section about gates in the description of the temple, but since Jesus made the new covenant we know the temple is now in us and the gate is the narrow one that Matthew describes, but the bible gives us clues on our quest, which is why we don’t just abandon the teachings God gave us before Jesus came and redeemed us with the new covenant. Close by Isaiah’s information about gates you will find:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
You wanna run the race? Go seek God, see what He wants you to do, do it, and you’ll find Him directing your steps along that race, the shortest most direct route. The real universe is not just the three or four dimensions you can experience easily – there are many more (Paul talks about this and I have blogged about it extensively). We all know the quicker route is the straight one, this road is straight but it goes to other dimensions – heaven. You are SEEKING that ROAD because you are seeking the WAY to Kingdom of Heaven. It is not in a direction YOU can even see, let alone run along, in your own strength. You need to find the WAY. You have been told where to find the way. You need to go meet the WAY and when you do He will show you and help you to run it. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake… Psalm 23 – the clues are everywhere once you start reading the bible. Go knock on His gate – its right there, inside you, in your heart. Your heart beats knock knock knock – a clue. It has a double beat, boom-boom, a clue to the original two tablets of the law, which is now graven on your heart – your conscience. In Psalm 19:8 you can see these words set out literally written there for you right next to each other: “…the heart: the commandment…” just another clue for you there. And you need a strong heart to run a race… not in your earthly strength, but in that God-logic opposite sense – weak made strong in the Saviour’s Love as the hymn goes.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6 (KJV)
Remember Psalm 19:5 – a race for a strong man is a joy? Read the rest of that Psalm and you will see the prophecy of the marriage – THE marriage of the Church and Christ. There is a prize worth running for!
God is love.
1 John 4:8
God is everywhere.
God holds the universe together – every atom, electron, fabric of time and space, dimension, law of physics. By Him all things consist.
The love which is God is the primary force which holds everything in existence.
This is literal truth.
God loves the world. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.
God loves not just the people in the world but the whole created universe, the Earth Moon Stars Animals Trees etc. He loves it all.
His love keeps it together.
Adam chose to eat the fruit that would lead to death rather than part from Eve. Love was stronger than death.
God knew this would happen.
Abraham loved God so much he was willing to sacrifice his son to God but love was stronger than death and so he did not have to.
God in return loved the world so much that He gave his only Son Jesus on the cross.
But love is stronger than death, and death could not hold Jesus.
Yesterday I saw a beautiful sight in McDonalds.
There was a young couple, about 18 years old. He looked a rough tough working class guy a bit of a thug maybe even. She was no classical beauty, but cute in an ugly-cute kinda way. They were fawning over each other, looking gooeyly into each others eyes and hugging inseparably as they waited for their burgers.
In the other line were the parents of one of them, also hugging and kissing inseperably.
All normal heterosexual good love, the way God made us.
They may not have been saved Christians – who knows. They may not be married – who knows. It was nevertheless refreshing to see that normal attraction has not been supplanted everwhere by the perverse abnormal versions that the New World Order is promoting so heavily.
To be a normal heterosexual Christian is becoming increasingly rebellious.
Try and not sell a wedding cake promoting homosexuality if you are a Christian cake shop in British Northern Ireland and you will see.
Tell your moslem friend about Jesus if you work for the British NHS (National Health Service) and see if you would keep your job.
Ever was it so, to be a Christian was to be a rebel.
Real Christians throughout history have been an underground persecuted minority, from the secret arrangements to meet described in the Bible onwards, forced to meet in secret, use secret symbols like the fish graffiti and the hidden cross in the trident symbol, or use the crossed fingers fish tail sign to recognise each other.
Christians have been killed for their love of God throughout history to the present day.
To truly follow Jesus and to live a Christian normal life and to proclaim it and spread the word is rebellion against the fallen world and against the evil that wants to run this world and to draw people away from God to jealous Satan’s death trap.
I have always had a rebel heart, and it led me a long long way from where God wanted me to be. However when I was in Spain, spotting the graffitis of the Christian rebellion, ichthuses and the combined venus and mars symbols that proclaim heterosexuality, was part of my being called to join Jesus’s rebellion against the wrong living that has taken hold in the world, and instead of following the world, for me to follow Him.
When God finally wraps up this world it will be dramatic and terrible in a way beyond imagination: wars, earthquakes, tyranny, persecution and eventually the very fabric of space will roll up like a scroll, crushing into nothing like the other dimensions that physics admits are curled up tiny already.
But this will not be done by God out of hatred. Despite it seeming horrible, ending this world will be an act of love, like euthanizing a loved animal rather than see it suffer, and He has the upgrade ready for us to live in, a new Heaven and a new Earth, where there is no death.
Love is stronger than death.
Join the rebellion, be on the winning side, fight with The Prince Of Peace.
Recap – you already know this –
A particle is only probably somewhere, albeit tied down by it’s Planck length, it is mostly somewhere, but it is a probability wave – particle-like only insomuch as as the crest of that wave pokes up noticeably. All the other places it also is, but rather less so, well that’s the quantum foam.
So how does this speak to gravity?
A large mass is a place where there’s lots of stuff. That is to say a place where lots of stuff more probably is than is not. So, why does other stuff want to be there? – Why does gravity pull? Why is mass attractive?
Well think about it. A large mass is a place where there is a high probability of stuff being.
Now here’s another little bit of stuff.
And there’s that place where there is a high probability of stuff being (a mass).
A high probability of stuff, ANY stuff, being there. Our little other bit of stuff for instance, is more likely to be there, because there is already a likelihood of stuff (ANY stuff) being there (THAT’s what a big mass that exhibits gravitational attraction, IS).
So the the probability wave of our little attracted particle is more likely to crest closer to where all the other stuff is, so it does just that, it moves toward the mass, it hones in toward where the probability of it being is higher. With each Planck length tick of the time dimension the temporo-spatial coordinates of its probably wave crest gets closer to where the other wave crests are, and synergistically they wind-up the probability and it accelerates, jumping proportionally closer with each Plank tick.
The reason why accelleration is a squaring of velocity, is connected with the right-angle relationship between the dimensions things can move in. Dimensions like time and space are of course just potential directions that things can probabilistically pop up in. Our particle at any point on the time line (T-axis) is a set distance from the centre of mass (z-axis), and so has (conventionally) only to count the density (probability) of its fellow in its x and y axes of the “shell” around the centre of mass where it currently is. The progress as it steps along z toward the centre as t passes contracts the available surface area of the x-y shell according to the inverse square law, so acceleration toward the centre (increased probability of being at the centre) increases as a square. G is always measured in metres per second per second. Acceleration per second per second – i.e. squared – is just an artefact of the way the area of a nest of spherical shells around a point contracts, like bringing the spots on the shrinking balloon closer together, thus making the likelihood of spots being near each other, higher.
The quantum theory of gravity is just a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more stuff is likely to be somewhere (and demonstrably this probability is so if the stuff is there), the more all stuff is likely to be there, so it in that direction the crest of its probability wave moves, accelerating as it goes along.
As always, the way things are arranged is elegantly simple.
You may ask where does a guy with not a huge amount of training in physics get such ideas. Well…
Romans 1:19-20 (KJV)
19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Are there other dimensions? – Yes.
Are there parallel universes? – No, not as such.
Up-down, left-right, forwards-backwards, yesterday-tomorrow, and all the other directions you can’t so easily see or describe because (mostly) they are very very tiny are dimensions. These are real. All the ones you can’t so easily see or describe, they are the “other dimensions.”
Every thing, every atomic particle is a probability wave. That electron is mostly probably here but it is a bit probably there etc. Things are fuzzy, smeared out probabilistically. Oh, so all the things are a little bit everywhere. A universe is a pattern of where all the bits are. The universe we live in is the one where all the bits are most likely where they are now. All the other combinations of less likely positions are the “parallel” universes. They exist a little bit because they exist probabilistically rather less likely but nevertheless to some extent, alongside (parallel in time), but we don’t usually see them because we are seeing the most likely arrangement of all the bits.
Parallel universes, to the limited extent they exist, are not in other dimensions, they are in the same ones we are in, but they are separated by probability, not by time-spacial dimensions.
Up-down, left-right, forwards-backwards, yesterday-tomorrow – here are two lovely pieces of music you can dance tango to (or just chill out):
They should point you to some wonderfully curated music (not “tango” but you don’t have to play a “tango” to dance a tango, do you).
If you’re in London (the most hip rad kewl (chose epithet dependant on age and cultural background) city in the world, especially anywhere near Dalston or Haggerston, go to the Tango Serendipity website. Then get yourself along to Steve’s tangos and classes – up-down, left-right, forwards-backwards, yesterday-tomorrow… enjoy, learn, relax, change and grow in many ways. You can be part of the coolest thing in the coolest place anywhere in the universe right now. Take it while it’s there don’t grieve when its gone…. you know how that goes.
God Bless y’all 🙂
Acts 17:28King James Version (KJV)
28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Psalm 27:5King James Version (KJV)
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
We are spiritual beings. Often said, but seldom understood. There is a widespread recognition by atheists, and even some non-atheists that we have some ineffable quality that is more than the sum of, greater than the synergy of, and not fully explicable by the deconstruction of the synthesis of, our consciousness and memory. That essence of us, each as individuals, is something outside the embodiment of self-awareness that psychology has tried to address, and more recently has tried to explain as something that can be atomised by salami slicing to death the emergent nature of consciousness back into sub-thoughts, sub-processes and self-referential internal communication. Not to say these internal dialogues and assemblages of thought do not provide the internal mirror that bounces our thoughts back and forth like the mirrors in a laser before consciousness emerges like a coherent beam, but we instinctively “know” there is more to us than that.
Who are better placed than the owners of consciousnesses with the intimate lifelong experience of being self-aware to possess the insight to realise, however dimly, that there is more to a living human being than just a dead computer looking in a mirror as it pulls itself up by its own bootstraps?
That is the recognition that we are spiritual beings – we each have a soul. It is mighty fine to say consciousness is illusory, but if there is nothing other than the so-called illusion that can be experienced, and no comprehensible and satisfying explanation of why a set of processes results in a conscious alive embodied feeling existing experience, then it I will argue that the alleged mirage that they would say is my experience of living has more reality than the intellectual desert that it graces. I would say I have empirical evidence of being it, which trumps such ephemeral theories.
So then, if the soul is not something that is explicable in the physical chemical processes model offered by neuropsychology, perhaps that is because the soul is not made of things that impinge chiefly in those mundane 4 dimensions (X, Y, Z and time) that we best perceive. Physicists would say there are more dimensions than those, and both I and the Bible (see Ephesians 3:18) agree with that. The soul is not of this “flatland” world. The thing that is really the unique living hub of each of “us” merely intersects and interacts with this world. We are truly, as they say, “in the world but not of it.” Our earthly bodies are, not what we are.
There is a gateway between these other dimensions and the ones we most easily perceive. The rolling of dimensions is referred to in the bible, physics calls it the curvature of space, the universe we are in being sort of meta-hypersphere. All that is fine, it explains quantum entanglement and lots of lovely stuff, but that’s not what I’m about today. Today’s thing is about translation. That geometric matrix of spatial coordinates manipulation that transposes like an architectural drawing presentation being redrafted from first angle into third angle.
Translating your soul so that it no longer intersects our mundane world is what going through the gateway is. The gateway is Jesus. In Him we live. Jesus is God. God is everywhere. He doesn’t need to move, to translate from intersecting to non-intersecting. Because He is there and here, He is the conduit for us to ride in and out of our set of dimensions to the others. He is the way. A way, like a highway, a road, a gate. The gate is narrow, He is the only way.
The bible is not unscientific mysticism, it is an account of truth. Truth that is very very hard to grasp even to our modern scientific minds that are just starting to see how complex and strange the universe really is, and hard to recognise because it was written in the language of people who as farmers and fishermen thousands of years ago did not have the words for physics and math and topology we have. Get past that and you can see that the supernatural is completely explicable and consistent with science. It is not magic or nonsense. Jesus said it simply and plainly. He is the way the truth and the life.
Hmm, the life. Don’t forget that bit eh? There are a lot of ways things can connect, behind the scenes. Like two points on a plain, that are really the ends of one line that curves below that plain.
When Satan comes and wants to cut you off from Jesus (oh yes, he is coming to get as many as he can), from the life of your actual soul, to bring you true death, remember, Jesus can whisk you away into Himself, BEFORE it even happened, because He is everywhere and every-when. He has told you this, in his book, how salvation works, and has given clear instructions how to get it.
Romans 10:13King James Version (KJV)
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
My thanks to Maasbach radio for playing some very nice music as I wrote this tonight, and as I finished writing it for very appropriately reminding me, it’s a two-way street. Once you live in Jesus, He lives in you. You can then be here and not get cut off by Satan. The intersections are permanent once they are done through Jesus. Eternal death is no longer a possibility.
John 10:9King James Version (KJV)
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
The infinite monkey theorem says that if you sit an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of typewriters, eventually one of them will type out Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet”.
Now a small scale experiment – 6 Monkeys at 6 keyboards – conducted by Plymouth University, showed there were some practical difficulties involved, such as monkey urine getting in the keyboards and them breaking the kit with rocks, but eventually one of them did press the letter “S” three times.
Such silliness aside, is there any mathematical flaw in the theory. Well, whilst math may be wholly abstract and notional in the mundane pure math way this statistical theory is expressed, and so as far as it goes the theory is flawless, it is only flawless in the abstract.
As far as applying the theory as an argument for a real outcome in the non-abstract universe is concerned there is a huge flaw. For a real concrete outcome in the real universe you need infinity to be a real possibility, not an abstract concept.
Now the real universe is a closed curved spacetime that ends up back where it began. In space you go round and round the hypersphere (let’s say arbitrarily at light speed C and discount time dilation effects simply to avoid complication) as many times as you like so you have at least pseudo infinite distance, but your journey does take some time – time passes as you journey along. Clearly to go an infinite distance round and round, will take an infinite time.
Now this is the real universe. Do you have an infinte amount of time in the real universe? Remember you want to apply the thory in the real universe to get a concrete real outcome, so you have to accept the limitaions of the real universe. if you go “along” (round) the time aspect – time passing as you go along – then you end up crossing where you started – its a circle (spacetime hypersphere). Now if time started at the big bang and you cross that point on completing your first circumnavigation of the spacetime hyperphere, then you have travelled back to where you started. You have pseudo-infinite time, not truly infinite time, as you have looped back on yourself and reset the clock, and presumably the “throws of the dice” to zero. You are destined to repeat the same journey again, and all things being equal the outcome on the next loop will be the same as on the last one. Ah, but the dice are truly random you say.
Hmm. Truly random.
Exactly and precisely conforming to randomness which is carefully defined as being…? Hmm. Need I do deep philosophy here or is the obviously oxymornic character of this notion enough to say that it’s hardly surpising that in the real world we have never achieved true randomness and logic has failed to even validate it as an abstract concept due to the hopeless paradox that it poses.
So at best you have repetitious pseudo infinity and no randomness at all. Not good ingredients for translating the abstract infinite monkey theory into applied math to achieve a concrete outcome in the real universe.
No, the infinite monkey theory isn’t even valid as a statistical theory in the abstract, as one of its underpinning concepts has not even abstract validity – namely randomness, let alone its other applied shortcoming, namely the lack of infinity in the real universe. It is a non-theory that even if it was a theory could not be applied. Darwinists please note.
Just as a nice little pun for the math geeks, whilst there is an “N” in “universe”, there is no N in The Universe.
How common are vast planet-wide underground oceans?
Jupiter’s moon Ganymede has vast underground ocean
How Jupiter Moon Europa’s Underground Ocean Was Discovered
Underground ocean found on Saturn’s moon Enceladus
Ancient Mars Water May Have Flowed Underground
Earth may have underground ‘ocean’ three times that on surface
So vast planet-wide oceans are not a crazy idea – they are commonplace and seemingly occur wherever there are planets and other planet sized rocks.
The crust of our planet that everyone lives on used to slide around on the core lubricated by a layer of water in between. It was made that way as we are told.
“And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.”
The bible uses accurate descriptive language.
If you read it more literally in the proper translation (the original KJV) you can learn scientific facts, properly. Jesus, the author, was called Rabbi. Rabbi means teacher. Rabbi means appointed leader. Which Rabbis do you trust?
A earth was bit like the shell of an uncooked egg sliding around over a huge yolk lubricated by the white of the egg. The egg gets knocked and spins and something cracks the shell a little bit. If the egg cracks in a few places but holds together pretty much, you will get some leakage of white though the cracks and bits of the shell will collapse directly onto the yolk as the layer of white in between has escaped. Egg white covers the surface of the egg, but it drys out quickly in many places.
If this happens to a real planet with a planet-wide underground ocean the flood comes up out of the ground and the land collapses onto the lower solid part beneath the water layer as the incompressible water is forced out through the cracks. Can you imagine the force of a whole continent squeezing out a whole ocean though tiny gaps? It would be the most amazing fountain you could have. Can you imagine those fountains of the deep? Take look at a space picture of the water volcano on Europa. http://www.seasky.org/solar-system/assets/images/io03_sk12.jpg Europa’s fountain is tiny.
What kind of a mess would that make of the surface of the planet?
Geological Layers Laid Down Quickly Atop Mount St. Helens
As the surface shell collapses huge amounts of pulverised rock are dissolved into the water then settle as many layers as the different particle sizes and densities settle at different rates. Geologists call layers of rock strata. You can see 21 feet of lots of different strata at Mount St.Helens where people actually stood and watched the 21 foot set of layers form in just 24 hours. Many layers of rock formed in just a day.
The many animals killed in the flood settled according to their densities and sizes also, and ended up in the different layers. They were buried suddenly so they didn’t rot. The wet earth leeched salts and minerals into them under hight pressure of the weight and they became like stone. Geologists call these fossils. They look like they got there gradually and change according to the layers, which gave people the idea of evolution, which was wrong. Evolution happens to relatively simple things like bacteria like they get immunity to antibiotics and new variations of diseases come along, but big things like cows and elephants and us can’t do that because the intermediate steps are not viable. Occassional variations (epigenetic, teratagenetic and other mutations) to big things mostly just die so don’t get to breed and pass it on.
Before the surface layer collapsed the air was low in moisture, but as day and night temperatures varied, some water percolated up through the ground as mist which was ample to sustain life. Something about the position of the planet, the state of its magnetic field and the solar wind drove off the water from the atmosphere quickly but the daily mists replenished it constantly from the vast underground ocean.
The planet began to shift position and the stress of this caused the surface layer collapse.
11In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. 12And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
Water welled up out of the earth.
The previously dry air became supersaturated with water and it rained as it had never previously done.
17And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. 18And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. 19And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that wereunder the whole heaven, were covered. 20Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. 21And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: 22All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. 23And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. 24And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
So it was bad for the things living on the planet, but it needed a good wash because all the sin was making it stinky, and there was a rescue plan which we know about in detail which worked, so a few of the important species survived, including us.
The flood was over quickly because the conditions that caused the water in the atmosphere to be taken away into space persisted long enough to dry out much of the huge flood. The planet ended up in a new stable orbit where the atmospheric drying effect no longer happened, and was left with some of the floodwater as oceans still covering about two thirds of it’s surface in the areas where the collapsed surface had fallen deepest.
With a new moist atmosphere that didn’t get evaporated into space in the new stable orbit, all sorts of things like rain and rainbows could happen for the first time, and once the crust had collapsed it couldn’t ever happen again. The big bits of crust still moved about a bit and although there was still a huge amount of water down there in pockets, the movement of these plates with no lubrication they scraped on the inner layer and heated up due to the friction, making lot of magma which some of the water down there dissolved into. The symptom of all this was the tectonic plates, earthquakes and volcanoes we still have today.
Unfortunately the survivors have so far not all lived happily ever after, and an even worse disaster is coming.
The earth will wobble on its axis as the fabric of our four regular space-time dimensions that were stretched out will roll up like some of the the tiny other of the ten dimensions already are. It will curl into a singularity closed forever. The bible uses accurate descriptive language.
The good news is we know about this and there is a rescue plan.
- The Bible is true
- Genesis is true
- The flood that Noah saved us from is true
- Revelation is true
- Jesus is the truth, the way and the life
Jesus as God made the whole universe, he made you, he loves you, the earth is broken and not worth repairing because it’s in a universe that is unstable, the forces of darkness are also in this universe, so he’s going to let it collapse into a singularity taking everything in it locking the bad away forever. He knew all this from the start, but he’s doing it this way so you get a choice, so you have free will with a real soul, alive like him who made you in his image, and are not just a clockwork toy.
The end of this universe will not be nice for anyone left here, but he can save you.
He will make a new universe which is called a new heaven.
He will make a new earth.
The bible uses accurate descriptive language.
He will take you there just before this one ends
He has told you everything you need to know in his living book.
Salvation is yours if you want it but it’s not compulsory, you have to choose it. You have choose him. A simple call on Jesus by name will do, you choose to change then call him, he will do the rest. Everything he has put in his book is true, and so is that.
The bible is an interactve book – you get to choose your own ending – I recommend the living happily ever after option.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1
I think it was Chuck Missler who said in one of his podcasts that he had failed to make sense of something he had read in the bible until he took more literally – that rather than think something didn’t make sense so it must be metaphorical not literal, it only made sense when he took it more literally. I apply Chuck’s insight and it has led me to think about some things in a way that has brought me to some interesting conclusions. I can sum this up by saying that to extract scientific knowledge from the bible you need to take it very literally.
By the way, to apply this, if like me and unlike Chuck you don’t have Greek, Hebrew, and probably Latin, you’ll need a good translation of the bible. That will be the old King James then, probably NOT something published since then (although I’ll reserve judgement on the ISV as I haven’t read it enough yet to form an opinion).
So, turning to Hebrews 11:1…
Perhaps this is something that operates through different dimensions. In the same way that there are aspects of our reality that to greater or lesser degrees exist also in dimensions we do not perceive, then maybe faith is a thing, that while similar to the word of God that creates, faith creates, not here and now but in the dimensions of the possible future. Actual real solid things and actual events, but they are over there, in one of those possible futures. Just like a meal you ate yesterday is real and a physical substantial thing, but not here now because it was eaten yesterday.
The word of God created the universe and the word is a living being and by Him it consists. Faith also creates, but it creates the things we hope for in the future and by faith they consist. So faith it is the actual physical substance of things, that we hope for. Literally as the bible says.
Do not be surprised that we humans can create in a way similar to the way God creates – we were made in His image. Faith is essential to our relationship with God as free created beings. It is the essence of free will – we can chose not to believe – and so too faith is essential to our humanity as beings that have souls. As such, at the theist/atheist level, if you are an atheist you may think you have no faith. However if so, you are wrong. Without the ability to choose, that sine qua non of your humanity we describe as faith, you could not be an atheist. So, despite the atheists’ lack faith in faith, they have no lack of faith. It’s just what (who) they have faith in, that they should re-evaluate.
The relationship of faith in Jesus is of course reciprocal. We are made in his image. Our relationship with God is like a mirror in so many ways. Jesus has faith in us. He hopes for our salvation, we are his work, his life’s work (in human terms of time) and he has literally given his life for us. His faith is the substance of our salvation, in that possible future, that we by our faith we can freely chose. In sin we are in darkness. Faith in Christ is the light that reveals the evidence that we were made better than our sin. Faith is the light of the world that we can share in, be revealed by as we truly were created to be, and be redeemed by. As such it is indeed the evidence of things unseen.
